Elmira Golf Club, set just west of Elmira on Eldale Rd., winds gently through the rolling hills of Eldale Valley. Canagagigue Creek runs through the golf course, challenging golfers with many interesting shots, especially on Elmira G.C.'s signature 17th hole, known as "Silo." You can hone your game at Elmira Golf Club thanks to the CPGA teaching professionals on staff. Likewise, the instruction team can offer an expert clubfitting to ensure you are getting the most from the 14 clubs in your golf bag. Elmira's clubhouse and Eldale Lounge offer panoramic views of the golf course and the natural beauty of the valley.

Every year I make a point to play this course at least once. There is something about it that makes it a joy to play. It invites the long ball hitters to push their distances, but reels them in by requiring accuracy via tree-lined roughs, and quick greens that drop off. A few blind drives require care for groups ahead.

Sitting on the deck at the clubhouse after the round affords an excellent view of the 18th hole elevated green to watch how approach shots fare. The 13th hole is a long straight drive to the horizon with a green still far away and in a valley - a chance to test just how far you can crush.

    Price-wise excellent value.
