The Deerhurst Resort was one of the first resorts of its kind along the northern lakes of Muskoka, offering two 18-hole championship golf courses. The Lakeside Course is so named for its location adjacent to Peninsula Lake. Thomas McBroom redesigned the classic layout. The front nine skirts the lake while the back nine offers a demanding test of skill. The Lakeside Course's greens are slick and undulating and there are deep, strategically placed bunkers throughout. Challenging water hazards also come into play on a few holes. In addition to the two golf courses, Deerhurst also offers a driving range and practice green for golfers to use.
