Turnberry Golf Club may not have the length of its sister course located only 20 minutes away, Eagles Nest, but it has the same challenging character and unique layout. Molded from abandoned quarries, massive outcroppings of earth were recreated to look like the seaside dunes of Eagles Nest. This 3,400-yard, executive layout has sparse vegetation, generous green complexes, and strategically placed bunkers. The golf course begins and ends with a long par 4 with an interesting variety of par 3s in between. Each hole was designed completely unique from one another to emphasize variety and playability. At Turnberry Golf Club, golfers will be forced to use every club in their bag.

This is a very unique course with few trees to get in your way but lots of sand traps and water to keep you focused on where your ball should land. It has a lot of ups and downs and the course is well maintained. The pro shop staff were pleasant and helpful. However, there was no coffee or muffins ready at 9:00 am in the morning nor were there any restaurant staff around to explain why they didn't open until 11:00 am. I suspect the restaurant thinks it is just a restaurant and the golfers that pass in and out are just an annoyance. We did eat there after our round and the service was very good although the prices were high for golfers. They should seriously consider having an outside barbeque with hot dogs and burgers at a discount for golfer as well as the aforementioned coffee and muffins early in the morning.

This is an average golf course and I felt like some of the staff were very rude and had an attitude as if we were lucky to be allowed to even play there! Really? Pro shop girl was pleasant can't say much for anyone else - didn't feel welcome and I won't be back.

The course and greens were really good and fun to play. However I wasn't happy when the marshall asked us to end our round early(after 14 holes). We went for twilight at 5:30 and there was still enough daylight to see just fine when he asked our group to stop because they were pulling out the pins. Any twilight I've ever played stops when it starts getting tough to see the ball. But apparently not at turnberry.
