Oaklands Golf Club boasts a versatile layout that is gentle enough for beginners while still offering a fair amount of challenge for more advanced golfers. The fairways are mostly narrow and water comes into play on a few holes. The signature hole is the par-3 11th, which requires a skillful shot through a narrow opening with trees along the left side and a steep grade to the right. The severely sloped green is surrounded by trees and protected by a tricky sand trap. The most difficult hole on the course though, is the par-3 second. This hole has an elevated tee with an out-of-bounds to the right and a sand bunker that guards most of the front portion of the small, raised green, which is also lined with trees on both sides.

Fun course, but long grass and heaps of dandelions. Some bare patches.
Good tune up course to begin the season
Great course for beginner through to moderate level golfers. Conditions were good and course well maintained (although somewhat damp as had rained the evening before) especially for so early in the season. Low handicappers and up would probably find this course a little too easy.
Good value golf course
The fairways are good and the greens are a little challenging. The windy conditions made it more interesting. Would play it again
interesting holes
This course has some challenging holes with water hazards on 3, 14, & 16 and all the way down the left side on par 5 12th. The fairway slopes to the left on 12 so must keep T shot right or ball will roll into river.
Greens are well kept but fairways are hard with less than ideal grass.

The staff are fantastic! The green fee was fair for the condition of the course. The fairways are all hard and dry. The greens are in great shape.

this course the greens were very plush and soft and rolled true mind you the fairways were so dry and hard that while driving the cart you really had to watch for all the bumps as your kidneys will hate you
nice course
i decided to try a new course i went on golf now and found Oaklands i got the fire sale the two of got to play for a total of $53.00. the price was great we found the fairways were very dry driving the cart down the fairways really hurt the kidneys if you don't watch out for the many dips .the greens were really nice lush green but played slow

Needs attention
Was not impressed with this course. Fairways were rough and needed water to make them playable. They were burnt from lack of watering. The greens were the best part of the game.

The greens were very good. Lush, good roll, but hard. The whole course could stand to have a lot of water.
Good course for the once a week golfer
Not a hard course and friendly for the golfer who cannot hit the ball far Lot of fun.
A very disappointing experience
From this experience,we will not golf on a course from golfnow.com with a rating below 4.5.It appears this course is about to go out of business.Course staff did not even stop work when putting on the green in the work area.NOT a recommended course for any friend or visitors to the Niagara Region.

Great course!
Challenging for an intermediate, yet forgiving if you fade a few drives. I lost one ball. I went right after storm, so things weren't perfect. The food was hotdog fare, which was okay. Not posh, but a fun day at a great price!
Hard as a rock!
Dry weather and lack of watering has made this farmfield difficult to play and ride on. (unless you like riding bulls).
Great shape
This course was in great shape compared to previous experience here. We'll groomed, actually had sand placed in the traps and greens were in excellent condition.
Cheap and quick
Play this course once a year for the reasons given in the review title.
