The Valley Course is a heavily forested golf course is the original layout at the club. The course is unique in that it has relatively short yardages rated with such high slopes mainly due to the tight fairways and numerous elevation changes. The driver will most likely stay in your bag while the long irons will be used often. The golf course is very tight, offering an ideal place to get some practice with irons. It is also provides an ideal warm-up round for the more difficult course at the Horseshoe Resort, the Highlands Course.

Shame on Horseshoe! Once the best destination in the region, now a joke. Two beautiful 18s reduced to a sad 9. I feel sorry for the employees who have been there since the early days. I started golfing there in the early 1980s, and golfed my last round there last year - I will not go back. I can't imagine having to show up there every day knowing how spectacular it once was. Imagine the "scratch" that course could have been making for the resort in these days of COVID-19. I guess the developmental dollar is worth much more than historic integrity ... and beautiful golf. So, it goes!
